Curriculum and Instruction Coordinator
.50 FTE Assignment
 The Reedsport School District will hire a district-level, K-12 school improvement position for the remainder of the 2017-2018.  The Curriculum and Instruction Coordinator will be responsible for working with staff to plan, target, assess, and adjust our K-12 instructional improvement efforts as a means to improve the academic success of all district students.  The Coordinator will: a) facilitate the alignment of instruction with State curriculum standards at each grade level, b) through dialogue and review of artifacts with staff, ensure instructional practices include appropriate teaching of core curriculum standards at each grade level; c) review formative and summative student assessment data as a means to measure progress and strategically work with staff to adjust teaching and engagement strategies; d) facilitate the regular review of teaching practices and student learning results that will lead to positive adjustments in student support strategies; e) design and coordinate professional development activities aimed at helping teachers align teaching practices with student achievement needs, and f) coordinate with the K-6 instructional coach, building principals, district administrators, and contracted service to maintain focus and effort to improve student achievement in mathematics.
 
The position is grant funded through 2019, but may receive continued funding through the District’s general fund as part of long-term, district-level strategic planning.  The Curriculum and Instruction Coordinator will assist the superintendent as the primary facilitator of continuous district improvement plan development, implementation, evaluation, and adjustment.
 
The annual compensation for this half-time position is approximately $38,000-$42,000, depending on experience, with prorated benefits as per Board Policy GB-AR.  Recent classroom teaching experience with demonstrable student achievement leadership skills and/or district-level school improvement administrative experience with strategic planning and monitoring experience is desired.  Teachers Standards and Practices Commission licensure is required, with administrative licensure preferred.  Long-term career interest in district-level administration is preferred.

High School Leadershi p Advisor
RCCS is searching for a dedicated person to advise the Associated Student Body officers and supervise all related ASB activities, including: leadership activities, dances, assemblies, elections, fundraisers, and related events.  The successful candidate will have student advising and/or leadership experience and a desire to help RCCS student leaders make a positive difference in school culture.  The co-curricular position is compensated.

 Life Skills Instructional Assistants – Elementary & High School
Reedsport School District has openings for full and part-time Life Skills Instructional Assistants to work with small   groups and/or 1:1 with special needs students. Successful candidates will demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills, motivation to follow case manager and consultant instructions, and flexibility in daily assigned work schedule.  Successful candidates will function as a member of a collaborative team, contribute to a warm and welcoming classroom climate, and display a compassionate approach to teaching students with disabilities. 
Starting hourly wage range: $13.01 – $14.94 depending on education and experience.  Excellent benefits package.

W.F. Jewett Poetry Recitation

Duties to include preparing curriculum for speeches in coordination with the junior high teaching staff. While working with junior high students on public speaking, decorating auditorium, providing refreshments, creating a program, incorporating entertainment during intermission.
